I am a conservative by nature, and believe that our school can do a better job preparing our students for graduation. Both state and federal test guidelines are important and must met, however we have left our students down in the soft business skills that develop leadership and independence to compete in the real business world.

The grants and scholarships that once were bountiful are drying up quickly and student competition is fierce. I want all students to be able to have the skills necessary to create or join an on going business to generate an income that will help pay for their college when they are ready.

Since 1904 school boards have been heavily influenced by the industrial sector to graduate students with only the basic skills needed to do a job. Hence the adage "Go to school, Get good grades, Get a job and retire to your golden years", doesn't work anymore. We must prepare our students to meet the challenges of the 21st Century not the 20th's.
