Candidate for
Board Member; Byron Union School District

This information is provided by the candidate

As a resident of Discovery Bay for 23 years, I am one of four siblings to attend its public education system. I have seen first hand the importance of a strong education. I consider education at the elementary and middle school level to be a critical building block for success in the transition to higher education. Consequently when I searched for opportunities to give back to my community in a positive and meaningful way, I was naturally drawn to the Byron Union School District.

Supported and educated by the faculty and staff of the BUSD, I continued to excel in high school. Three and a half years later I received my degree in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting from UCSB.

We face difficult times with economic and budget challenges. With my experience as a financial advisor, I feel I can contribute innovative ideas to create revenue for the BUSD. Taking a proactive approach to involve our community and local businesses will create a STRONG EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION to support programs for students.

Experience, leadership, and new ideas will be critical for growth. A true understanding of budgets will maintain a fiscally sound district during these turning economic times.
