Position paper on Tassajara Valley

By Rosalind "Roz" Rogoff, PhD

Candidate for Director; Dublin-San Ramon Community Services District

This information is provided by the candidate
I am against urban development in Tassajara Valley. I would vote against providing potable water from DSRSD for developments in Tassajara Valley.
LAFCO, the Local Agency Formation Commission, decides which water agency is put into the Sphere of Influence when an area is planned for development.

Dougherty Valley gets its water from DSRSD because East Bay Municipal Utility District told LAFCO it did not have sufficient water for that development when Dougherty Valley was being planned by Contra Costa County.

LAFCO put the Dublin San Ramon Services District in Dougherty Valley's Sphere of Influence to provide water for the County's planned developments.

Opponents of Measure W in San Ramon claim that passing Measure W "Stretches our limited water supply." There's no water agency supplying potable water to Tassajara Valley right now, and you cannot stretch what isn't there.

If I am elected to the DSRSD Board of Directors I would vote against putting DSRSD into Tassajara Valley's Sphere of Influence as a supplier of potable water.
