Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Tobias Lester

Candidate for
Board Member; Walnut Creek School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I am introducing myself to you as a candidate running for the Walnut Creek School Board. Our schools now face deep budget cuts, increased classroom sizes and shrinking resources. It's time for a change. Our children should not suffer because our politicians play games. I am running for the School Board to fight for our children. Walnut Creek is one of the great cities in California, and our children should be receiving the best education in the State. We should be exercising good stewardship of the resources we do have, not splitting hairs over which programs to cut. Specifically, I will fight to:

  • Ensure the District's fiscal health through active budget oversight, as well as maximize public and private sources of funding.

  • Ensure the new homework policy is implemented and amended as needed to enhance the academic life of all children in the district.

  • Improve communication and collaboration between parents, schools, school district, and community.

I ask for your support to make this happen. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions at the tobias@tobiaslester.com. Thank you for your consideration.
