Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Paradise Unified School District

These are challenging times for public schools, and districts need board members to ask the tough questions and make the tough decisions. They need board members who do their research, listen to the full range of perspectives and draw conclusions impartially. As a newspaper editor, corporate manager and business owner, I have proven experience doing all these things.

After graduating from Stanford University, I spent nearly 17 years as a reporter/editor for a large daily newspaper before moving to Paradise and becoming editor-in-chief of the CN&R. .I am now a columnist and Editorial Board member of the Paradise Post, along with running my own business, Idea Cultivators.

Our community matters to me -- I am a Paradise Rotarian, and I chair the board of the Civic Pioneers Institute, a. nonprofit that develops leaders in the North State. Our children and schools matter to me -- I am the husband of a pediatrician, son and brother of educators, and uncle of a Paradise elementary student (plus a preschooler-to-be). I have been a Big Brother, volleyball coach, and mentor to local youth.

As a PUSD Trustee, I will represent the public interest in our public schools. Thank you for your support.
