Smart Voter Official Statement for Glenn A. Stankis

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Paradise Unified School District

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Information gathered from regular attendance at-PUSD board meetings since 2002 have revealed several critical areas where student instruction and curriculum need improving! Pertinent suggestions provided the Bo,ard have received scant attention. The fact that two members of the Board have been teacher's union presidents, and that most members have full time employment may be the reason.

In contrast, I am a retired professional engineer and an Army Chemical Corps veteran. My wife, Helen, and I moved to Magalia in 1998 after our three children became adults. Since then I have also served with community organizations including the Butte County S.T.A.RS. and the Salvation Army.

School district deficiencies occurring since 2001 which still need correcting include: (1) de-emphasizing patriotism and citizenship while concentrating on secular knowledge,(2) being duped into supporting the PCTN immoral agenda and (3) refusing to support traditional values such as Prop.8, or include approved studies related to the 10 Commandments and Bible based electives in school curriculums.

One suggested solution with regard to the latter would be to offer a nationally recognized high school elective which explains how the Judeo-Christian scriptures became the most, important influence on America's culture and education.
