Smart Voter Official Statement for Lou Cecchi

Candidate for
Director; South Feather Water and Power Agency; Division 5

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

For 20 years l-have fought to preserve our community's water rights and supply. So far, we have thwarted efforts-by the State and powerful southern California interests to take water that is available because SFWPA (OWID) made investments and sacrifices years ago to build large storage reservoirs. We have it and they want it. This is a threat that will not end as long as California's cities are growing and proposals to build additional water-supply facilities are rejected.

Since my first term on the SFWPA board, it has been my goal to provide you with quality water at a very reasonable price. Since then the Agency has had a very strong and stable board and a highly efficient management team. Our managers and employees have developed a model water district ensuring that you, the consumer, receive quality water and outstanding service.

A new Federal license for our hydropower project and a very favorable new contract to sell electricity will make possible a reduction in your water rates. I am very proud of this accomplishment which has been made possible only through diligent and hard work by our management and employees and a very strong and committed board of directors.
