Why I am running for office
As the Manager of Volunteer Services for Open Heart Kitchen, I have seen firsthand the effects of our current economic environment.

As I watch the results of the down turn in our economy, I like many in our community ask what can I do? I want to become more personally involved as a tax payer and take a close look at the revenue generated by a vital productive business community. Together we can create a financially healthy community to enjoy.

I am running for city council because I have concerns

I am concerned about the continued well being of our seniors. As the senior community continues to grow we will need to plan for future needs.

I am concerned for jobs and the success of our local businesses. Our business community has unlimited potential, Hacienda Business Park, Stoneridge Mall and our own unique downtown main street community.

Business is the heart beat of America; it's the heart beat of Pleasanton. It helps keep our taxes lower, our community employed and our Police, Fire and City services intact.

As your city council person it will be my focus to have greater city government transparency, to promote our local businesses and have policies in place that encourage others to come Live and work in Pleasanton.

I am concerned for our future health, our economic health, our fiscal health and the environmental health. Each is intertwined. We cannot sacrifice one for the other. Our parks will not be pretty or safe if surrounded by foreclosed homes and failed businesses.

I have seen how this community can come together in a crises, and I believe, We ...the people of Pleasanton, have only tapped into a small part of the greater potential we all share with each other to make Pleasanton the family community we all value.

My name is Fred Watson and I want to be your city councilman.
