Born and raised in Oakland's District 4, I've centered my life and career on building community, solving problems, and leading change in my hometown. I am running to be District 4's next councilmember because I love Oakland, and I have lots of energy and passion for fixing its problems.

I will use my extensive professional and community volunteer experience to make positive changes you can see and feel, and make decisions driven by this community's long-term interests. I'll work hard every day to reduce crime, build a thriving economy, support our schools, and make your government more responsive and responsible.

I offer a proven track record of results and community responsiveness. For the last 15 years I've advocated to ensure the community's voice and vision drives decisions, effectively positioned projects to secure millions in state and federal funding, and brokered creative compromises among stakeholders.

Some people say Oakland is broken, that it can't be fixed. My whole life tells me that's not true. I know it's hard to be effective in a tough city like Oakland, but I've seen what a little creativity, hard work, and persistence can accomplish. With my deep roots in Oakland, community experience, and government experience, I have the tools needed to help fix Oakland.
