? 1. What changes to our current immigration policy do you support?

Answer from Gary Berntsen:

First, we MUST secure our southern border to even begin to address the immigration crisis. I am opposed to giving amnesty to those in our country illegally. We must determine who is here without documentation and proceed with a path to allow for them to apply for legal status.

? 2. What legislation do you support to reduce CO2 emissions?

Answer from Gary Berntsen:

I favor solutions that incentivize businesses like transportation to limit their emissions. I believe that tax breaks should be offered to companies to work in environmentally friendly ways. I am opposed to `Cap and Trade'; the concept of catastrophic global warming has not yet been confirmed by the scientific community.

? 3. What timetable would you support for the removal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan?

Answer from Gary Berntsen:

We must move forward with programs that take into account the unique characteristics of both nations, and work toward creating self sufficiency in terms of their ability to maintain security as rapidly as possible. I oppose making any timelines public as this allows our enemies to plan accordingly.

? 4. Do you support substantial additional federal funding for economic recovery?

Answer from Gary Berntsen:

NO. The Obama bailouts have been a miserable failure and have escalated our national debt. I believe we can stimulate our economy by shrinking the size and scope of the government. Creating private sector jobs must be our first priority. I also favor a tax reduction for targeted growth industries.
