Local Roots

Jeff grew up in Ventura County, attending school in Thousand Oaks before moving to Camarillo, where he graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance in 1987 from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.

Experienced Accountant

Jeff began his ten year career in public accounting as a bond analyst with the Los Angeles office of Kenneth Leventhal & Company. He specialized in accounting relating to the issuance of collateralized mortgage obligations and other complex financial instruments.

When the Savings and Loan crisis unfolded in the early 1990's, Jeff led accounting teams into failed institutions and worked with government regulators to minimize taxpayer exposure. He then went on to advise healthy financial institutions on their commercial real estate loan portfolios.

After the firm was acquired by Ernst & Young in 1995, Jeff specialized in business valuation, advising corporate clients in purchase and sale transactions.

Small Business Owner

Jeff developed his business instincts early in life working at his father's service stations in Oxnard and Camarillo as a teenager. In 1997 he left public accounting to partner with his father in redeveloping a vacant service station in Gorman, California. After sucessfully repositioning and growing the business, Jeff opted to sell in 2005 in order to move back to Ventura County.

In 2006, Jeff formed a partnership to purchase JJ Brewsky's, a restaurant in Camarillo Old Town. He successfully rebranded and connected the business to the community, resulting in significant revenue growth.

Recognizing JJ Brewsky's contribution to the betterment of Camarillo, Jeff was awarded 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce.

Walker sold his interest in JJ Brewsky's in December 2009 and began his consulting career with fellow local business owners and non-profits on using social media.
