I am excited to be running for the California State Assembly in the 20th District, a community in which I have lived and served all my life.

We need better results for our community - we need to change the way state government operates. I am a dedicated public servant, a practical leader committed to bringing people together to get things done. I understand that we must work together to solve problems, and will lead by example.

As an Ohlone Community College Trustee, I am an education leader known as a problem solver. I understand the importance of education and I know that community colleges can help get our economy back on track. As your Assemblymember, I will work to make sure our local colleges can continue to offer training and education for the jobs of the future like nursing, biotech, environmental health, and clean energy technology fields. I will make fully funding education a top priority and fight to restore the billions of dollars of state cuts.

I believe in transparency and accountability - two values we need more than ever in State government. For the past 20 years I have worked to ensure corporations and insurance companies play by the rules, monitoring things like workplace safety and fair wages to protect California workers. I know how to serve as a real watchdog who can cut waste and inefficiency to hold big business and government accountable. In the State Assembly, I will fight for wide ranging reforms to eliminate legislative perks like state paid cars for legislators, reduce the influence of lobbyists, and force legislators to vote on every bill - not just "take a walk" on tough issues.

Please join me and together we can get results for our community!
