The Plight of small businesses in California

By Donald Thompson

Candidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 5; Republican Party

This information is provided by the candidate
Small businesses are failing in California, and something must be done immediately to save them.
Instead of small businesses surviving and thriving in California, they are failing. Thousands of small businesses have died in California, and if something is not done soon, thousands more will fail.

Small businesses have been the hearthrob of America, and I am determined to help them survive and thrive in California. We must ease the heavy restrictions and regulations placed upon small business owners in California and reduce the bureaucratic paper work requred by the state of small business owners. I propose that the franchise tax be reduced, especally in hard economic times, and that new business owners be given tax incentives in order to help them be successful and to survive.

Scores of small businesses are leaving California to states that are willing to help them to survive and thrive. We need to do the same thing in California. I am determined, if elected to do everything within my power to help strengthen small businesses in California.
