Take back our election system from the domination of wealthy corporations

We need clean, publicly funded elections to revive our democracy
As long as candidates must rely on corporate campagin donations, the voices and needs of ordinary Californians - working families, people with disaiblities, students and seniors - can be ignored by our elected representatives in favor of the moneyed interests. As a result, our state will continue to be in crisis while big business fail to pay their fair share of taxes through corporate tax loopholes and other giveaways. And we will see more and more draconian budgets that starve our formerly world-class education system, cause untold hardship to our most vulnerable residents, shed jobs, and devastate our communities.

Therefore I support:

  • publicly funded elections
  • Free equal time media access to candidates and both sides of initiatives - the air aves belong to the people!
  • Free candidates' statements in Voter's Guide
  • Significantly reduce signature requirement for initaitives and require signatures to be obtained by volunteer siganture gatherers only.
