Economy

By Michael Robert LeBarre

Candidate for United States Representative; District 17; Republican Party

The American economy has been the envy of the world, built on the foundation of individual responsibility and the pursuit of a better life.
The American economy has been the envy of the world, built on the foundation of individual responsibility and the pursuit of a better life. Yet, the out of touch political establishment in Washington D.C., has set their sights on destroying it. They want to control our growth through oppressive and job killing legislation. They spend more time figuring out how to create new programs and new taxes than how to help the American citizen.

They ignore what has worked, such as lower tax rates, pro-growth policies, and a balanced budget. Instead, the party machine and career politicians, want to raise our taxes, create new taxes, and spend, spend, spend. They promote initiatives such as the "new green economy" yet, in practice, it ends up helping China and India more than America. Their approach will only force more jobs and businesses out of our country.

We must be self-reliant when it comes to our economy. We must rebuild our manufacturing base and pass legislation that makes our businesses more competitive globally. Our government must stop spending more than it receives and stop increasing the debt for us and future generations.

It is time that Washington D.C. start acting with common sense and put America's interest first. This means passing pro-America policies, repeal or not fund intrusive job killing legislation, and no more deficit spending. These simple principles will create more jobs and provide every American the opportunity to fulfill their dream of a better life for themselves and generations to come.
