Candidate for
Governor; Republican Party

This information is provided by the candidate

I'm a native Californian. I turned 54 years old on February 6th. (I share this birth date with Ronald Reagan and Babe Ruth.) I was born in Los Angeles and raised in Anaheim. I now live in Auburn, in Northern California. My wife and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary this past October. We have one son (32) and two grandsons (8 & 6), and a granddaughter approaching her first birthday. I'm a second generation American on my Mother's side of the family and my Father's side of the family goes back to the Revolutionary War. I have been with the railroad for 33 years. First with the Southern Pacific beginning in 1977 and currently with the Union Pacific since 1996 when they purchased the Southern Pacific

I'm a registered Republican, but I think for myself using logic, common sense, and facts when it comes to the issues. Wearing blinders and not looking beyond the boundaries of your own party will not meet our state and country's best interests. I'm a blue-collar worker and believe that labor unions benefit both the employees and employers in the private sector with collective bargaining agreements and grievances. I believe we need to make California more attractive to companies in order to keep them here and have them move here in order to create more jobs. I'm a conservative when it comes to Government spending, and I don't want the Government running our lives.
