Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Steve Rosen

Candidate for
Trustee; San Diego Unified School District; Trustee Area B

This information is provided by the candidate

Dear Friends:

Like many parents, I am alarmed by the decline in quality education. Our children will face an increasingly complex and competitive world and our schools must prepare them for that. The Board needs to refocus its attention on our children's needs. That means rolling up their sleeves, pulling apart the budget, and reprioritizing expenditures to develop a strategic plan to move our schools forward in this 21st century.

I speak from personal experience, not simply news reports of the district's fiscal follies. I tore into the District's budget myself to see how taxpayer dollars were being spent. I spoke with a senior district official about discrepancies I found. His response was that I shouldn't "sweat the details." As founder, President, and CEO of a successful local business, I assure you that I "sweat the details" every day. That's when I decided I would run for the School Board.

I am deeply committed to education. My company TV Magic, a broadcast systems integrator, has donated time and resources to the Office of College, Career and Technical Information at San Diego Unified School District that enabled them to receive over $9 million in grants. These dollars are providing secondary school students with the opportunity to explore and develop their skills in the technical and business aspects of all industries related to the Arts, Media and Entertainment.

Please join with me and reinvest in our children's education. Click on the "Join Our Team" and complete the information to show your support and help in this endeavor.

Thank you for your interest in my candidacy and our children.

Sincerely, Steve Rosen http://www.rosenforschools.com
