Statement of DONALD ROCHA, Candidate for
Member, San Jose City Council, District 9

Occupation: Governing Board Member, Cambrian School District     Age: 42
Education and Qualifications:
I currently serve as a Trustee on the Cambrian School Board and for years I have been an active volunteer in the classroom, community, and many youth sport programs.
I ran for School Board because our children deserve the best education. I'm running for City Council because our children, seniors, and families deserve the best quality of life.
I will work on your behalf to ensure our neighborhoods are clean, safe, and well maintained. We need to get back to basics at City Hall by balancing the budget, creating and retaining good jobs, and protecting core services such as police, fire, parks, libraries, and community centers.
As an elected School Board Trustee, I'm experienced at balancing budgets and protecting the quality of education, which is why the Cambrian District Teachers Association supports me.
I 'm also honored to have the endorsement of Vice Mayor Judy Chirco, County Supervisor Ken Yeager, and Assemblymember Jim Beall, and more importantly their trust to serve this community.
I believe in public service and my focus will be serving you and your family at City Hall. Please visit my website at http://www.donaldrocha.com or call me at (408) 355-4196.

I respectfully ask for your vote.
