CANDIDATE STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS GEORGE NIELSEN

As a peace officer for the past 24 years, I have dedicated my adult life to protecting and serving our community. I have a proven record of strong, ethical and innovative leadership that has prepared me to lead our Sheriff's Office into the future. As the Placerville Chief of Police I have a distinct combination of executive experience, education, training, leadership ability and local commitment. I am a graduate of the University of Virginia, FBI National Academy and the California POST Executive Development Course. I am tough on crime and involved in the community. I have led the efforts in reducing the crime rate in Placerville 53% over the past 5 years. I have over 16 years of volunteer service on local boards serving families, children and victims here in El Dorado County. I have diligently served the citizens of El Dorado County, not as a political strategy, but based on my personal beliefs as an Eagle Scout in service to others and my community. El Dorado County has been my home for my adult life. I am raising my family here and I want our County to be the safest place to live, work and play.
