Contra Costa County, CA June 8, 2010 Election
Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Sharon Mossman

Candidate for
Member, Democratic Party County Central Committee; County of Contra Costa; Supervisorial District 5

This information is provided by the candidate

I'm very interested in continuing my work to make sure the Delta levees are repaired and maintained. These levees are important to Contra Costa County and Northern California as the source of water for citizens and farmers, natural recreational facilities, and one of the beautiful attractions of our area.

Because I am approaching retirement and have been disabled for many years, I am working for the rights of senior citizens and the handicapped in Contra Costa County and the State.

As a mother of five children, a grandmother of four, and a teacher, I am committed to working for better education for our children and an affordable college education.

I feel it is very important for California to establish fair and equitable guidelines for immigration.

I am opposed to the horrendous impact made by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in loss of life and long term medical and mental problems. The money being wasted there could be used for the good of thousands of our citizens here in California. I will continue work to help bring an end to the war and the swift and safe return of our military and civilian personnel.

I will work in support of legislation to return the three branches of our government to the balance intended by our founding fathers.
