I am running as a Democratic candidate for the 103rd District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives because I believe the legislature is out of touch with the needs and struggles of citizens. We face challenges like none other in my lifetime - challenges that necessitate a leader with new ideas who takes to heart the true motivation for public service. I am honored and excited at the prospect of representing the 103rd District in meeting these challenges head on.

For over 20 years, I have devoted my life to protecting the environment and consumers' rights against complacency, exploitation, special interests and mismanagement. During this time, I have acquired and developed the experience and skills to advocate for legislation and policies to safeguard and improve the services and resources in our communities. It is my passion about the issues, and my compassion for people that motivates me.

If elected, I will:

  • oppose legislative pay raises and special entitlements;
  • advocate for job creation and training, and economic development, especially in green technology;
  • support efforts to improve our educational systems without further draining local economies;
  • work to pass a budget on time and seek constituent feedback on the issues you want addresssed;
  • join reforms to make government more ethical, effective and less wasteful of your hard earned dollars; and
  • continue to champion causes that protect our environment.

I will not accept a state vehicle and I will reject pay raises during my years in office, giving the raise to the Dauphin County Library or a charity chosen by the voters. I will advocate for shortening the legislative session, which will bring greater urgency to passing a budget on time, save millions of dollars, and will limit the ability of special interests to influence legislation.

As I visit voters, I hear time and again that you want a Representative who seeks to serve because of what they can do with the position rather than what they can gain from it. I would like to be that Representative. With your help, we can end "business as usual" politics and make the legislature work for you.

Please vote for me in the Democratic Primary on May 18.

Thank you.
