Member, Board of Education; Mount Vernon City School District

I believe that all children can learn, and that it is the responsibility of the Mount Vernon School Board to provide the resources and implement the educational policies and practices to help them succeed. If we set the bar high children will reach it. We must provide our children, with a safe, healthy and engaging supportive learning environment. The Mount Vernon School District's staff must believe that our children can learn, they must be skilled, experienced, and committed to the education of our children. The District's Curriculum should be challenging, technologically advanced, diverse and inclusive, to ensure that our children will be able to compete in a global economy. Resources are scarce but we should look into all of our programs, evaluate them and improve those that need improvement, eliminate unsuccessful programs.
