Smart Voter Political Philosophy for C. Michael "Mike" Kilburn

Candidate for
US Representative; District 2; Republican Party

We need to get back to the basics in shaping and reforming those tasks and mandates prescribed by the Constitution in carrying out the duties in doing the People's business for this great nation. I believe that each of the members of the House of Representatives should be true Citizen Legislators, not career politicians as has and is the case for many members serving today. I pledge the constituents of the 2nd Ohio Congressional District that I will impose a six year term limit on myself as your Congressman.

As a Conservative Republican, I promise the voters that I will not be beholden to the Party Bosses and will be my own man while serving as your Representative to Congress. I believe with all my heart that we need to eliminate the debt that this Congress has placed on this great nation this shall be my #1 priority while serving. We need to institute legislation that advocates less government not more government and that sends a message to our citizens of self responsibility and fiscal accountability. I would advocate an immediate reduction in spending for the entire federal budget of 8% per year for five years. At the time of a balanced budget I would advocate that the rate of spending never exceed the rate of inflation.

We have got to find a way to start making things again in this country. Our kids and grand kids can't all work at McDonalds. Therefore i would propose a total elimination of the Corporate income Tax and would replace the IRS as we know it today in favor of a Fair or Flat Tax System for all wage earners in this country. I would also work to eliminate the Federal Estate Tax.
