I received a B.A. with honors from Edgecliff College (now a part of Xavier University) and a J.D. with honors from Chase College of Law.

My legal career began in private practice until I joined the Hamilton County Juvenle Court in 1979 as a referee, becoming the Chief referee in 1982. In 1983, I was elected to the Hamilton County Municipal Court where I served for ten years, and was elected Presiding Judge. In 1993, I was appointed, and then elected and re-elected to the Hamilton County Juvenile Court, completing my years on that bench as Presiding Judge. In 2004 I was elected to the First District Court of Appeals and currently serve in that capacity, having been elected Presiding Judge in 2009.

I have served as President of the Ohio Association of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and am currently Legislative Chair of the Ohio Association of Courts of Appeals. I also serve as a Board member of Xavier University and The University Hospital.

I am married to Robert G. Hendon, and have two grown chldren (Melissa (Joseph) Deters and Chip (Shawna)Hendon, as well as eight grandchildren.
