Quality of Life

By Scott Malsin

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Culver City

This information is provided by the candidate
"I think of each and every Culver City resident as my friend and neighbor, so it's hard to think of anything more rewarding than making our lives better."
Scott believes that walkable neighborhoods are the key to a better quality of life for Culver City. "Being able to walk to shops and restaurants from our houses is the best way to keep our air clean, our stress levels lower, and our bodies healthy. My objective is to bring the amenities we need to each and every neighborhood, to reduce traffic and our reliance on our cars, and to continually improve our parks and the programs we offer in them."

Scott is proud of the remarkable progress Culver City has made towards these goals over the past four years. From east Culver City to Downtown and from west Culver City to Raintree Plaza and Westfield Culver City, we are able to find more of what we need closer to home. Our parks have been undergoing a substantial amount of renovation and our City is making great strides towards sustainability. Scott will keep those efforts going strong.

Scott is proud of our expanding and improving public transit network. He has fought to make sure the Expo light rail line gets built + and built right. He has worked hard to reduce traffic through local efforts and regional cooperation. He is looking forward to successfully implementing his initiative to reduce cut-through traffic in the Downtown and Rancho Higuera residential areas. He is working to create localized shuttle services to reduce car trips in our business districts. He spearheaded the creation of a regional task force that is bringing Culver City and the City and County of Los Angeles together to develop solutions to traffic congestion.

"I think of each and every Culver City resident as my friend and neighbor, so it's hard to think of anything more rewarding than making our lives better."
