Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Ann Scott-Mantey

Candidate for
School Director; Perkiomen Valley School District; 4 Year Term

This information is provided by the candidate

I have decided to be a candidate for the school board because I want to help build stronger relationships between the school board, faculty, staff and the community. I have been volunteering in the school district for 10 years.

I consider the important elements of education reform to be raising the achievements of all students, preparing every student to meet the challenges that post high school brings and changing the way public schools are funded.

My top objectives are:

  • Advocate for public education; advocate for the majority of the student population who are in between the top 5% and bottom 5% academically.

  • Offer higher math starting at the elementary school level; offer Mandarin Chinese and Japanese in-house to keep up with the global market and better prepare our graduates to compete both nationally and internationally.

  • Communicate - developing section "900 - Community" of the school board policies.

  • Educate the public about PA's education funding and participate in organizations that promote change.
