Candidate for
School Director; Abington School District

I have been a resident of the School District for 43 years. As a graduate of the school system I appreciate the awesome power that the schools in our community have in developing the citizens and quality of life in our community.

Our community is diverse and the board should represent all of the areas and backgrounds in the district. The current board has no members from Rockledge. I have served the Rockledge community for 17 years as a council person and for 20 as a member of the Rockledge Volunteer Fire Company and 4th of July association. I feel I have a good understanding of our community.

I have an extensive educational background. I have been trained as a secondary school Biology and General Science teacher. I have taught in both public and private schools. I have spent the last 10 years of my career as an assistant principal.

I live in Rockledge with my wife Amy who comes from Glenside and graduated from Abington in 1983 also. She also is a teacher with the School District of Philadelphia. Amy and I have two boys: Phillip and Mathew. Our children attend the McKinley school were Amy has served in the past as PTO President and Vice President.
