Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Cliff Wilson

Candidate for
Mayor; Borough of Folcroft

This information is provided by the candidate

For the past thirty years the borough of Folcroft has had it's politics and it's I am rungovernment dominated by one party - most of those years by one person - and for the past four years by people whose claim to fame is they defeated that one person.

But a population has risen in Folcroft that doesn't know or care about the personal feuds and political batles of the past. A majority of our population has moved in and grown up in the past decade and now is left out of the decision making - is disconnected from any sense of inclusion in this community.

We want to build a New Folcroft. A Community with all it's residents young an old, black and white, people of diverse lifestyles and differing opinions in ONE Folcroft. A safe and secure place to live, to raise our children and grandchildren. ONE community that will work together and help each other as we go through this great economic depresson that is descending upon our country.

We should not be a Forgotten Folcroft. For too many years we were ignored because the powers that be didn't want to be beholden to the boss. For the past four years we've been ignored because our borough government hasn't known how to -- how to do anything frankly. We have our bridge to nowhere on Folcroft Ave - 12 years waiting to repair it - The entire country talks about infrastructure and who advocates for Folcroft? We have a commercial strip on Delmar Drive - with the economy tanking, that strip - somewhat off the beaten track - is threatened with further decay. It doesn't have to be. An assertive proactive borough government should take the lead in seeking federal and state aid to keep that strip commerically viable. It means advocating for Folcroft.

We can make Folcroft a model of a strong suburban community - blue collar middle class - people of all colors and religions and lifestyles coming together to live in fine homes with efficient services - clean and safe streets - green parks and state of the art playgrounds + modern and hi-tech library facilities - a community center.

I don't intend to the mayor of a Forgotten Folcroft or of a Failed Folcroft. I intend to be the Mayor of a Forward-looking Folcroft. A New Folcroft
