A major issue that seems to be missing in this campaign is "What happened to our fund balance". Two years ago we had a year ending balance of around $1,600,000. At the end of 2009 we will have around $100,000. This means that in January we will have to borrow to operate the Township. Although tax increases were minimal,spending was not. We operated on a "penny wise and dollar foolish" attitude, and this is not sound fiscal policy. |
