Questions & Answers

1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati, Master of Education from Xavier University, served two terms in AmeriCorps, currently serving my second term on Mount Healthy City Council, teach at Mount Healthy High School.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

1)Work with the park committee to plan more events and hire a part-time events coordinator. 2)Work with HUD to purchase foreclosed properties to evaluate and then demolish or renovate. 3)Work with the students of all of our schools to take an active interest in local government.

3. What two actions would you promote to enhance city revenue or decrease city expenditures in order to balance the city budget, given the current economic conditions? (100 word limit)

My first action is to continue our Safety Service Director. During these tough times, Bill Kocher has done an outstanding job balancing our budget while maintaining a high level of public services. Secondly, revitalizing our housing stock will increase property values and bring in more property tax.

4. What steps should the local government take to ensure that the quality of rental property meets minimum legal standards? (100 word limit)

We have already taken legislative action to hold landlords accountable for harboring criminal activity, and have also strengthened our property maintenance code during my first two terms. We have been proactive and will continue to be.
