2009 position paper and address for ICRC public address
Hello - I am Rob Weisgerber I am running for Loveland City Council and I am asking for your continued support.

I am honored to serve you as the Mayor of Loveland and have been for the last 4 years.

A little background about me: I have been on City Council for 12 out of the last 14 years. I have been in the majority, in the minority, vice mayor and Mayor. I have been on many committees including a couple that have influenced the City helping it be where it is today. First as chairman of the historic redevelopment committee in the late 90's we were able to reshape the historic downtown into what you see today. I have also been a member of the finance committee putting conservative measures in place protecting your tax dollars and putting what we do receive to the best use.

I need to thank my family because without them I could not do what I do. My wife Teresa, and boys Scott, Peter, and Tim support me in every step and correct me when I waiver. They are all my inspiration to leave this community in better condition than when we moved here. We moved here because Loveland had (and still does) what no other town around us had - charm and wonderful neighbors with family values. It is important to me to continue and to foster this for our future.

I graduated from Moeller High in the class of '77. I have both a BS in mechanical engineering and a Masters in Aerospace Engineering from UC. I have been out at GE in Evendale designing jet engines for 30 years and am currently the senior technical advisor for the military Department supporting our war fighters.

My philosophy for the City in the coming term is as follows: 1) Protect your pocketbook. We have managed to hold our operations of utilities at or below CPI and will continue to manage our cost of government to keep fees, rates and taxes low. It is for this reason we took on Hamilton County and MSD to protect your rates into the future.

2) Stay focused on basic services Focus on efficient use of our resources to provide you the best value for your tax dollar. Look for new opportunities through the use of data from within our operations, use public / private partnerships, and eliminate waste where ever we can.

3) Remain Fiscally Conservative I have been a member of the finance committee for most of my 3 terms on City Council. We have put many controls in place to help establish a balanced budget and look at future projections for conservative planning. I established a forecasting tool to be used by administration to look at revenues within the year so we can adjust projected expenditures to keep the budget balanced through out the year. We are expecting reduced revenues from the State and other agencies so we are looking at savings and efficiencies now before revenues are reduced. While other communities, counties, and states are struggling with balancing their budgets, Loveland is fiscally sound due to our past diligence.

4) Ease of Business inside and outside of City Hall You are our customers and we need to be outward focused on you and your needs as residents and stakeholders within our wonderful community.

5) City Image - be proud of our community I moved here 26 years ago because I saw how wonderful Loveland was. I still see the beauty and the community values that make this City such a great place to live. It is a priority of mine to continue to improve upon what we have so this City continues to be a place you are proud to call home.

As we move forward into the next term of City Council I ask for your continued support

Thank you!
