Questions & Answers

1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

An attorney in private practice, I'm also President of New Foundation Savings Bank. I've served four terms on Council. During the past four years as Vice Mayor. My business experience, community service and leadership skills make me well suited to continue my service to Blue Ash.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

Blue Ash has achieved prosperity by cultivating economic diversity. I believe what makes Blue Ash unique makes it better. The new recreation center, the future airport park and the golfhouse clubhouse separate Blue Ash from the typical bedroom suburb. As the economic and popuation epicenter of the region moves northward, we must continue to distinguish Blue Ash from other communities seeking to emulate our success.

3. What two actions would you promote to enhance city revenue or decrease city expenditures in order to balance the city budget, given the current economic conditions? (100 word limit)

Blue Ash's budget is balanced. Council and Administration have planned well. Our city is fiscally sound. Blue Ash was prepared for the current economic downturn. City revenue has not declined like other municipalities. City services are in fact being augmented. I pledge to continue to be a vigilant financial steward for Blue Ash residents.

4. What steps should the local government take to ensure that the quality of rental property meets minimum legal standards? (100 word limit)

We cannot afford to allow Blue Ash's housing stock to decline. Residential rental property must be subject to strict standards. These standards must then be uniformly enforced throughout the city. Only then will landlords be legally required to maintain their rental properties appropriately.
