Candidate for
Treasurer; City of Cheviot

I am a lifelong resident of the City of Cheviot. I went to St. Martin of Tours elementary shool in Cheviot, and graduated from LaSalle High School. I received a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Cincinnati, and studied Law at Northern Kentucky University's Chase School of Law. After working in the Finance industry for several years I worked in the Hamilton County Commissioners' Office. I currently work as a Bailiff in the Court of Common Pleas.

I am the proud father of one son, Calvin (9), and I'm a member of St. Martin of Tours Parish, the Cheviot Firemen's Association, and the Cheviot-Westood Community Association.

I served the City of Cheviot for 6 years on City Council, where I chaired the Finance Committee and Building & Annexation Committee. While on Council, I focused on increasing City revenues without raising taxes, and giving our police and property maintenance staff the tools they need to keep our neighborhoods safe and our streets clean.

I was appointed to fulfill the term of retiring City Treasurer Paul Dorenkemper in January of 2009, and since then has been proudly serving as your City Treasurer. In my short time as Treasurer, I was able to sucessfully reduced the City's banking fees by oer 80%, saving the City thousand of dollars a year. I continue to seek out opportunities for cost savings and is working to introduce cost-saving competition measures to the Treasurer's Office. I am a member of the Ohio Association of Public Treasurers, and have 8 years of government finance experience.
