This information is provided by the candidate

I am committed to public service and as a member of the board of education I pledge to devote my energy, time and talent to work as a team for the children in our city. I fully understand that as a board member I will be charged with the major responsibility of providing the best educational opportunities possible for the youth of Cincinnati. I am fully aware of those listed at the top of Cincinnati Public Schools Organizational Chart (students, families, employees, taxpayers, citizens) and I know I will be accountable to them. I understand that it will be my responsibility to make decisions that are in their best interest.

I am willing and able to make decisions on the wide range of issues that come before the Board, such as setting district policy; planning student services; setting goals and making long-range plans; adopting curriculum; establishing budgets; being a good fiscal steward; and act in the best interest of the school district; engaging parents; and creating community relations programs.

I will work diligently to establish public relations, help build public support and understanding of public education.

As a board member my philosophy and vision is that we consult with taxpayers early and often to ensure our public school learning centers enlist the organizations that will be beneficial to students and families. I envision an environment where all students embrace the value of learning for its own sake in safe and orderly schools. That we reach out to engage families and the community at large and provide them with access and open communication at every level of the education system. My vision is that we share accountability among students, parents, teachers, support staff, administrators and board members for academic excellence and consistently enforced standards of conduct. I also envision that we have students, teachers and staff who are recognized for their dedication, respected and valued for their excellence in performing their duties. Finally as a board member I will make responsible budget decisions, because the board must control spending
