Political Philosophy for Nicholas Hollan
Candidate for |
I believe that government has both a functional and moral responsibility to the people it represents. Certainly basic city services should be meted out as easily and as efficiently as possible. Public safety, trash collection and zoning variances are a few of the functional duties which are demanded from local government. A moral obligation to ensure that all citizens are treated fairly regardless of race, age, gender, income or sexual orientation also falls into the responsibility of city council. Government must protect the rights of the minority to guarantee equality for all people. These principles have helped craft those issues for which I will continue to be a strong advocate. |
