Smart Voter Full Biography for Timothy M Cleary

Candidate for
Board Member; Winton Woods City School District

This information is provided by the candidate

My name is Tim Cleary, and I am running for the Winton Woods City Schools Board of Education because of my interest in public education and my desire to serve the children and families of our district. I am the recipient of a quality public education, having graduated from Colerain High School in 1977. I have been a resident of Springfield Township for 25 years and have seen all three of my children receive a quality education from Winton Woods City Schools. I want to see that quality continue.

I ask for your vote and endorsement in my bid for re-election to the Winton Woods School Board. I believe my experience over the past five years as a Board member and my 27-year career operating a successful business provide unique background for continued service on the Board. As the owner of my own company, I am constantly working toward new solutions that will make my company efficient and competitive. Those are the skills I bring to Winton Woods Schools as well. As a parent in this district, I want my child, and all our children, to receive the best education we can provide.

Over the years I have worked with a variety of district staff members from teachers to Superintendents to do what is right for our students. I believe in reaching out to all stakeholders in our district. To that end, I initiated the district's current part-time enrollment policy that includes home school families in our schools. I also spend one week a year in Washington, D.C. bringing our community's concerns before our local members of Congress. I have also worked on building cooperative relationships with Finneytown and Mt. Healthy Local Schools, to the benefit of all three districts.

I feel schools are vital to the community, and I will work hard to maintain and improve our education system for the families of Springfield Township, Forest Park and Greenhills. One of my biggest concerns is making sure our community attracts, recruits and retains the best teachers and school leaders to insure that we provide a high quality education and maintain the financial viability of our school district.

I have worked diligently as a Winton Woods Board member and parent to help craft an academic environment that inspires the students of our district, while incorporating the values and beliefs of the communities of Springfield Township, Greenhills and Forest Park into all my decisions. Serving on the Winton Woods Board of Education has required a commitment of energy, time and talent to work as a team to help our students and families. I would like to continue that service to my community.
