ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

By Anitra Brockman

Candidate for Council Member; City of Cincinnati

This information is provided by the candidate
"CREATING AND SUSTAINING QUALITY LOCAL JOBS"
What do we need more of in Cincinnati? We need more small businesses. Small businesses create and sustain quality local jobs. They're the coffee shop where you stop on the way to work, the restaurant where they always know what you order, and call you by name when you come in, the bakery or corner market; they are the businesses and the people that assist with keeping our communities and City operating.

If elected to City Council, I will encourage and support the growth of small businesses, especially minority and women owned businesses. Also, I propose waiving permit fees for the first 12 months to encourage new start-up businesses help spur economic growth in Cincinnati.

We need to make it easy and empower our residents so that entrepreneurial spirit can rise up in this community to reduce blight and transform Cincinnati.

Ensure that our tax and incentive structure is aligned with our economic development priorities.

Establish easier and more accessible start-up resources for small businesses in Cincinnati.
