? 1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

Answer from Alfred L. "Al" Ledbetter, Jr.:

Over 36 years of municipal experience. I bring leadership, experience and integrity to the Treasurer position. I offer an in-depth understanding of municipal finance, accounting and laws. Hands-on experience with Sharonville's budgeting process, taxation, resources, and goals. Good working relationship with City administration, council, department heads and employees as well as residents, employers and civic organizations.

? 2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

Answer from Alfred L. "Al" Ledbetter, Jr.:

Work cooperatively with Auditor, Budget Director, Mayor, Council and Investment Committee to achieve financial goals and objectives. Meet at least quarterly with the Investment Committee to discuss, agree upon and update financial investments. Open communication and leadership to help prioritize projects and preserve assets. Continuing education to stay current with Ohio financial guidelines and municipal investments.

? 3. What two actions would you promote to enhance city revenue or decrease city expenditures in order to balance the city budget, given the current economic conditions? (100 word limit)

Answer from Alfred L. "Al" Ledbetter, Jr.:

The primary role of Treasurer is investments. By working with the Investment Committee, I look at the available (unencumbered) cash balance abd pending expenses, to determine the maximum number of months we can commit to the purchase of government-secured certificates of deposit.

Provide monthly financial reports to all elected officials that provide current encumbered and unencumbered cash balances of each City fund. Advise Council of variances between projected income and actual income received to date.

? 4. What steps should the local government take to ensure that the quality of rental property meets minimum legal standards? (100 word limit)

Answer from Alfred L. "Al" Ledbetter, Jr.:

While the City of Sharonville has a property maintenance code, this is not a function of the City Treasurer.
