Our goal should be to create complex multifaceted urban spaces.I would support economic development that would bring jobs to our community. I am in favor of mixed-use development. Mixed-use development is designed to encourage a variety of community activities, locales and services to co-exist in close proximity, thereby reducing the need for extensive use of automobiles. It can be antidote to the widely separated live and work centers that we are familiar with in the suburbs. I will support mixed use development projects throughout Mount Vernon. Our community is among only a few in Westchester that offers easy access to its resources by foot, train and public transportation. We must take advantage of this. |
