The Town Board's number 1 concern continues to be instability in the economy. Revenue is down substantially from sales taxes and mortgages taxes, but expenses, including the newly enacted MTA tax, continue to drain our resources. The Town Board will be reviewing the details for the 2010 budget projections over the next several weeks, and it is our collective goal to keep expenditures at a bare minimum, including a salary freeze for all department heads, and attrition in several departments. Please also note that salaries for the Town Board and the Supervisor have not been raised since 2005, and in fact two year's ago the Board removed all medical benefits for all electeds. |
