Smart Voter Political Philosophy for J. Mark Drexel

Candidate for
Council Member; Town of Yorktown

This information is provided by the candidate

I will work hard to:
-Cut town costs and expenses, streamline management, eliminate bureaucracy, and rein in taxes. High taxes are a symptom of over spending and mismanagement.

"I will reduce spending by eliminating those expenses and outdated programs that are no longer beneficial."

"It's Time for real local government action, not more empty promises."

-Make Yorktown a safer, more secure community with a local law enforcement presence. Crime is an important LOCAL issue.

"It's Time to support our police department and NOT allow the loss of local control that will put public safety decisions in the hands of others. Yorktown needs the Yorktown Police Department."

-Support business re-vitalization and development to generate sensible growth and employment opportunities

"Small business in Yorktown needs an advocate in Town Hall. I will be a strong and clear voice for the interests of local businesses by addressing public policy issues with respect to business advocacy, economic development and the quality of life in our community."

"It's Time town hall worked constructively with the Chamber of Commerce to implement strategies that help drive growth and prosperity."

-Implement a thoughtful planning process that enhances the community's quality of life. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent on the Comprehensive Plan for Yorktown, and seven years later the board is still discussing it.

"It's Time for decision making, not further delay."

-Identify innovative traffic solutions that make Yorktowns roads safer and reduce congestion.

"There's too much empty talk. I will utilize my engineering experience to pursue innovative traffic solutions.

"It's Time for action to improve traffic flow and road safety."

-Take action to improve the appearance of Yorktown - in all of the various Hamlets and communities.

"It's Time we take advantage of the local architects and designers who are willing to volunteer their time to improve Yorktownfs appearance."
