Stephen Nachtsheim Chairman of the Board, Deluxe Corporation, St. Paul, MN

Business Experience
Stephen Nachtsheim is currently Chairman of the Board of Deluxe Corporation (DLX) located in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has been a member of the Deluxe Board of Directors since 1995. Prior to becoming Chairman, he was the Lead Director of the Board. Deluxe provides goods and services to financial institutions and small businesses.
Nachtsheim joined Intel in 1981 as Director of Design Automation in Santa Clara, Calif. In 1984 Nachtsheim became General Manager of the Custom Products Operation, which produced custom silicon for Intel Customers. This operation evolved into the ASIC Business Group in which Nachtsheim became General Manager in 1988. In 1990 he joined the Intel Products Group as Director and General Manager and transferred to Europe. He was then promoted to Vice President and became the General Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Upon his return from Europe in January 1994, Nachtsheim held the position of Vice President and General Manager for the Mobile and Handheld Products Group, which he held until August of 1998. At that time he was named Co-Director of Intel Capital, Intel's venture capital and acquisition arm. Nachtsheim was appointed vice-president in 1992 and elected Corporate Vice President in 1995. He retired from Intel in August, 2001.

Academic Appointments
Prior to joining Intel, Nachtsheim held a tenured faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota where he ran the Academic/Research Computing Facility operations and taught in the Graduate School of Business. Before that he held academic faculty and administrative positions at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, where he co-founded the Quantitative Methods/Computer Science Department and was Director of the Academic and Administrative Computing Center.

Education
Nachtsheim earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1967 from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned an M.S./M.B.A. Degree in Management Information Systems in 1975 from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
