Dear Voter,

In these difficult economic times our children need my experience and leadership. That is why I am running for re-election as Oakdale School Board Trustee.

The following is a shortened list of outstanding achievements the District has accomplished during my tenure:

  • Adoption of a Strategic Plan with community input.
  • All 4 elementary schools score over 800 on the Academic Performance Index (API). Our district has the highest API score of all unified districts in Stanislaus County.
  • Completed over 60 million dollars in expansion, modernization, and construction; at the High School, Junior High School, and Elementary Schools, including construction of Sierra View Elementary, all projects were completed on schedule and under budget.
  • Establishment of Oakdale Education Foundation.
  • Adoption of Master Plan for Technology.
  • Adoption of District K-6 and 7-12 Student Conduct Codes.
  • Adoption of Character Education Program, "The Power of One - to Impact All
  • Adoption of Emergency Crisis Response Plan
  • Make decisions in the best interest of students, parents, staff and the community as a whole.
  • My business acumen is one of the reasons the District has remained fiscally sound during the current recession.
  • My expertise has saved the District millions of dollars in land acquisition and construction costs.

Our achievements are extraordinary however; we still have work to do. I look forward to finishing what we have started and continuing to give back to this great community of Oakdale. I would appreciate your vote on November 3rd.

Rick W. Jones
