This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Statement of NANCY SHEPHERD, Candidate for
Member, Palo Alto City Council
Occupation: Managerial Accountant           Age: 55
Education and Qualifications:
President, PTA Council (governing body of all PAUSD PTAs); Graduate, Leadership Mid-Peninsula; Treasurer, Palo Altans for Government Effectiveness; Trustee, Mid-Peninsula High School, financial manager, Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto; Sally Siegel Award recipient for shaping district-wide policy on fundraising; BA International Relations, SFSU.
I am running for Palo Alto City Council because our future matters. My husband and I moved to the Southgate neighborhood in 1984 where we have raised our four children. Palo Alto is unique because its citizens work together to build a better community. But today Palo Alto is faced with unprecedented challenges, complicated by the reduction in city revenues. I am committed to working effectively to: re-energize our neighborhood shopping centers; protect our valued city services, parklands, and open spaces; repair our crumbling infrastructure; and mitigate the massive impact of California's high speed rail projected to run through Palo Alto.
I have the leadership skills, dedication, and experience to tackle these difficult issues. Let's rethink how city hall and the community can work together to shape our future. And with your help, we can. I ask for your vote on November 3rd. http://www.electNancyShepherd.com
