Statement of CHRIS GAITHER, Candidate for
Member, Palo Alto City Council

Occupation: Community Volunteer
Education and Qualifications:
Serving Palo Alto means giving back for 25 years of opportunities! Volunteering our abilities, skills/talents to enhance/preserve this gem Palo Alto is a shared responsibility. My teenage nephew tells me, "Uncle Chris, when I am 30, I will live in Palo Alto". My goal - help Palo Alto's journey as a municipal innovative leader in community building; the environment; governance, and supporting the entrepreneurism of the businesses that invigorate our local economy, and enhance the world.
Thirty years of career diversity. Counseling autistic kids and door to door study guide selling taught me people skills. Five years in insurance finance focusing on budget, profit/loss, and field audits translates to "I do numbers". I built two businesses providing in-home support for quadriplegic men; and selling cruise/tour destinations. Ten years in affordable housing property management with audit, budget, customer service, inspection, renovation and regulatory agency interaction responsibilities. I have helped to enrich the lives and palate of seniors as a La Comida board member. A Palo Alto precinct elections inspector since 1992, I understand voters' concerns. That same year, I discovered Foothill College, becoming a life-long consumer. An enthusiastic Stanford Alum, I will always support our refrain, Beat Cal! http://www.electgaither.org or chrisgaither@rocketmail.com
