The county has to charge $13,020 for this office ballot statement, but the position only pays $400 a month. Only a few could afford this fee, why ???
Printing costs are printing costs, but I don't spend my money when the costs are out of line, and that's how I will approach spending Chaffey college funds, only when the costs make sense, common sense if you will, for our students' educational needs. Why should you have to spend $13,020 for this board member ballot statement for a job that only pays $400 a month? Why is that? I would not raise that kind of campaign money, and even if I did, I would not spend money like that just because that is the status quo. I do have a problem with this exorborant cost, and it is these types of costs that need to be addressed in any college budget, but especially one that has exceeded $200 MILLION DOLLARS the last two years. This is why you received your ballot with no statement from me or some of the other candidates in this race. I surely could'nt expect to recoup this fee from the office pay, that only totals $4,800 A YEAR, barely breaking ahead by the end of this four year term. So the question I pose to the voters of this election is this, do you want someone on this board who will scrutinize every spending item in this college budget? Then that's why you need to vote for some new board members to find out how this board really spent over $200 MILLION DOLLARS IN EACH OF THE LAST TWO YEARS' BUDGETS!!! The voters deserve to know, no more status quo, no more "good ol' boys" club, and no more ballot statement fees that keep out participation and knowledge to all of the voters. VOTE FOR ME, CHRISTOPHER AGRELLA, AND I WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS, WITH YOUR SUPPORT AND VOTE THIS ELECTION, THERE'S NEVER BEEN A BETTER TIME FOR CHANGE THAN NOW!
