RE-ELECT- JOE RIVERA + "A VOICE FOR ACHIEVEMENT"

It is hard to believe that four years have gone-by when you elected me to serve as your School Board representative. During this time, you have entrusted me to make the best decisions possible by making use of my 27 years of hands-on experience and knowledge as a school administrator/educator.

I must admit, these four years have been extremely challenging due to the State of California's Budget Crisis and the "Great Recession" our Country has been enduring. Nevertheless, there is hope for the future as well as some significant accomplishments that have taken place within the district to report to you.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
-Responsible oversight of School Bond funds for Significant School Beautification
-Completion of New El Rancho High School Gym
-El Rancho High School Schedule Change to Semester System
-Introduced Measure to have all High School Students meet "A-G" College Requirements
-Introduced the Implementation of the El Rancho Alternative School (ERAE)
-The Creation of the APEX Program for our Special Needs Students
-District Partnership with Pride Program for our Students "At-Risk"
-Established District Partnership with Plaza De La Raza Head Start Programs
-New ROP Culinary Arts Program for entry-level jobs
-District recipient of $1.4 million School Safety grant
-Lobbied legislators at the Local, State, and Federal level on district-related policies and issues
-District policy on sustainability through the creation of a Budget Advisory Committee
-District focus on increasing student achievement
