Craig T. Mueller, PhD.

As a former Chair of the Rancho Palos Verdes (RPV) Planning Commission he served on the Planning Commission until 2006 and the View Restoration for one term before that. His extensive record of civic service to RPV includes Planning Commissioner 2000-2006, Chair of the Planning Commission 2004, View Restoration Commissioner 1998-2000, Member Residential Standards Development Committee 2004-2006, Chair of General Plan Update Committee 2003-2004.

He also has a long history of volunteering in the community including Judge at a Science Fair for high school and intermediate school students in Palos Verdes 2005, Coach for AYSO Soccer Boy's division 1999-2003, Assistant Coach for AYSO Boy's division '98, and Assistant Coach for AYSO Girl's division 1995 & 1997, Assistant Coach YMCA basketball 1997, President and Newsletter Editor of the Mediterrania Homeowner's Association 1996-1998 & Newsletter Coordinator 1999-2002.

His education includes a BS in Physics from the University of Michigan, MS in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from USC, and a private pilot's license. While serving as a Planning Commissioner, he has attended a number of conferences on City Planning and enrolled in the associated training classes in land use and municipal government.

He and his wife, Pang Mueller, moved to RPV to raise their family over 25 years ago. Married for 30 years, they are very proud of their son, Tommy, and daughter, Alisa, who went through the Palos Verdes School System, graduating from Peninsula High School. Tommy is an Eagle Scout and now a junior studying mechanical engineering at UCSD. Alisa is a Gold Award Girl Scout who went on to graduate from Harvard and now enrolled in her third year of a MD/PhD program at Stanford. Pang is past Chair and volunteers in the Las Primeras Auxiliary of Assistance LeagueŽ of San Pedro - South Bay and also serves on the Mediterrania Homeowners Association board.

For the last 25 years, he has worked at local non-profit aerospace firm, as a Senior Project Leader and before that as a Research Scientist doing research and development space systems for national defense. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and Optical Society of America (OSA) with 22 publications including coauthor of a chapter in optical handbook. In his current position as a Satellite Communications Engineer, he supports the government in designing and procuring future satellite communications systems. Communication, innovative solutions, and the ability to work with complex systems have been the key to his professional career.
