Candidate for Council Member; City of El Monte

New Vision, New ideas.
Dear Residents of the Friendly City Of El Monte:

I come to you at a time when our city faces a myriad of historic and serious challenges. We have seen:

  • Our taxes increase to one of the highest sales tax not only in the state but in the nation.
  • Large layoff in polices and fire fighters which can jeopardize the safety of our residents.
  • The city has depleted its cash reserved and faces near bankruptcy.
  • Mismanagement and negotiation of contract that the city just couldn't afford.
  • Threats of higher property tax.

It is time to unite efforts and rescue our City! There is no better time than this moment that I come to you and ask for your support in taking this city down a new path. I bring with me the experience, commitment, and dedication that are needed to pave a new direction for our city. My focus as your Councilman will include:

  • Renew accountability, responsibility, and transparency within all part of our city day to day businesses.
  • Reducing taxes and standing against any new tax increase, including sales and property taxes. You should not have to pay for the city's mismanagement!
  • Promote and bring a new diverse business climate to our city, so that we're not highly dependent on just one type of business.
  • Provide more programs to the growing needs of our elders and disables because it's time for us to give back in times of their needs.

With your support, lets make El Monte great together. New ideas...new direction! Vote New.

Thank you,

Kien Lam
