Governing Board Member; Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District

As a teacher who believes that all students can succeed, Darryl has worked to provide students with the tools necessary to make sound choices and fulfill their own personal destiny. Test scores are just one indication of student achievement..Our district has had students graduate from MIT, Stanford, USC, Northwestern, Grambling, UCLA, CSULB, CSUF and many others. We have produced doctors, teachers, lawyers, scientists, realtors, business leaders, soldiers.

Teachers, Classified employees, parents, students and community members all have a stake in the decision making process. All voices need to be heard and in his 16 years on the board, Darryl has made sure that has happened. He has proven to be accessible, lists his home number on every ocassion and over the years has garnered the support of the the local teachers association (TANLA) 4 times and CSEA in every election that they have endorsed.

This philosophy is embedded in the premise that rigorous work and support of educators will be beneficial for the community.
